Robert E. Poe served as a - Sp5 - E-5 - Army - Drafted Selective Service. He was 21 years old at the time of his death, single not married. Robert was born on October 17, 1946. He was from Chattanooga, Tennessee. His tour of duty in Vietnam began on May 13, 1967. Robert served with the "A" Company, 26th Engineer Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade, 23rd Americal Division. Robert died on March 4, 1968 in Quang Nam Province, Republic of South Vietnam. Robert's death was a result of an enemy explosive device. His body was recovered. Robert's religion was Baptist. Robert's name is listed on Panel 42E --- Line 70 of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. "Rest In Peace Robert You Are Missed By All Who Knew You"
