The Phillipsburg Area Vietnam Soldiers

Memorial
In 1974 the Phillipsburg Area Junior Chamber of Commerce took on the construction of Memorial and Bandshell dedicated to the 13 men from the Phillipsburg Area that died in the Vietnam War. It was constructed in a public park in the center of Phillipsburg on a hillside under spreading maple and oak trees. It was a labor of love for these men and women who helped construct the Memorial, as most of them had grown up with, went to school with, and in some cases, fought in the Vietnam War with the Heros they would be Honoring with the construction of the Memorial.

Bruce Edward Lawrence was the last to be added to the base of the Memorial as the Military did not officially declare him "Killed in Action" until 5/9/78. Until then he had been listed as "Missing in Action"
