196th Infantry Brigade, 23rd Americal Division.

Matthew died on May 3, 1971 in Quang Nam Province,
Republic of South Vietnam.

Matthew's death was a result of an enemy explosive device.
His body was recovered.


Matthew's religion was Methodist.

Matthew's name is listed on Panel 3W --- Line 24
of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C.
