Johnny served as a - Cpl. - E-4 - Army - Drafted Selective Service. He was 21 years old at the time of his death, single not married. Johnny was born on August 8, 1947. He was from Elberton, Georgia. His tour of duty in Vietnam began on September 26, 1967. Johnny served with the "A" Company, 26th Engineer Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade, 23rd Americal Division. Johnny died on September 19, 1968 in Quang Tin Province, Republic of South Vietnam. Johnny's death was a result of an enemy explosive device. His body was recovered. Johnny's religion was Protestant. Johnny's name is listed on Panel 43W --- Line 42 of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. "Rest In Peace Johnny You Are Missed By All Who Knew You"
