Charles died on January 19, 1968 in Quang Tin Province,
Republic of South Vietnam.

Charles's death was a result of a non - hostile vehicle crash. Charles died that day with Joseph Francis De Crosta and Ronald Baker. His body was recovered.

Charles's religion was Baptist.

Charles's name is listed on Panel 34E --- Line 82
of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C.
